Just found this image... the first and only photo of the KAL A300 crash seen ?
The accident took place in Jeju in 1994.. but luckily everyone survived.. quite disturbing image..
This is what happens when a captain and a F/O disputes whether to land or go around in bad weather.. They just want to land the plane no matter what..

The biggest mistake made by most human beings: Listening to only half, understanding just a quarter and telling double.

A disturbing photograph indeed, was this an A300B4 or a -600?

Once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward; for there you long to return

For a major flag carrier airline, KAL has an appauling safety record.
I hope it improves.
Glad everyone got out OK of this one.

I hope its true that after the last KE crash the airline took serious efforts to change the questionable behaviour of some of their pilots. At least nothing has been reported regarding that after their last crash about 4 years ago...

If you read accident reports, especially the one of a DC-10 crash in Tripoli in the 80s you wouldn´t want to fly with such ignorants (the pilots of that KE jet were sent to prison fortunately).

Since the last KE crash, the airline appears to have made huge steps to improve safety,in particular, the cockpit!

I would not have an issue flying them now,in fact,i've heard good thinks and look forward to having a flight in the future.

IIRC Korean was excluded from Skyteam for a while because of safety concerns.

They're back in now though - although I do not know the full reasons behind their exclusion, and subsequent return.

Well, feeling very sad if I see pictures like that. Fortunately all the passengers survived on this crash.

Anyway, fortunately Korean Air has done lots of steps to improve their safety and nowadays they belong to the safest airlines again, so I have no doubt about flying Korean Air whenever I can.
