Why So Many DL Flights To CAK?

Can CAK (Akron/Canton, OH) sustain 7 daily flights to Cincinnati? I realize that they are feeder flights, but this seems a bit much for a small market. Does anyone have any input on this one?

I do not believe that CAK is a small market. The Akron area is growing quite a bit, and the increase in flights shows for it. DL added mainline ATL flights, and FL has added alot of new flights. They wouldnt be added if there wasnt room, so I would guess that there must be some sort of a demand for it.

Or the mainline to atl could just be to compete better with air tran.

CAK is definitely going to continue growing at quite a decent pace, as it lures more passengers mainly from CLE. I've personally heard more than a few Cleveland residents express their new liking for CAK over CLE; not necessarily for lower fares, but simply for a more passenger friendly atmosphere that it's able to provide over CLE. For most passengers who want ease of travel..smaller is better.

I kind of disagree. The only thing I like about CAK is that the parking is so close to the terminal. I think the airport is pretty run down and has horrible restaurants. I especially don't like the "open smoking" atmosphere in their only sit-down restaurant/bar. I won't complain though for a cheap flight though...

Maybe you're right Ord747Cle, I've never been there. I'm just relaying what I've heard from passengers that have used both airports.
