Found this on the faa website. Sounds like a mess in the East.

"Due to SNOW REMOVAL, the General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport (BOS) was closed as of Dec 06 at 08:15 PM EST. The date/time when the airport is expected to reopen is not known."

I saw the weather radar for NE about 20 mins ago and there was bands of really heavy snow whipping into BOS. It's going to be a long night...

Caution wake turbulence, you are following a heavy jet.

It's not likely that BOS will reopen tonight. They were using follow-me vehicles to guide the aircraft into their gates, but had to stop, as the follow-me's couldn't see. Most of the taxiways haven't been plowed either.

The good news is, it's been so bad at BOS today, that most flights haven't taken off. The only one that I believe has been diverted is BA239 to Dulles.

Still closed.. It's not been a good weekend for travelers around here. MHT is open, but a lot of flights have been canceled out of there. I think that PSM may be closed as well - nothing has been in or out in the last day.

From what I've heard from friends and family the whole east coast (mostly northern i guess) has been a mess. My cousins had off from school in MD on Friday, and a bunch of friends going to school in Boston said its crazy. Hope it all clears up.

Seems that operations have started back up at Boston. The faa is reporting that it's open.

BOS is now open. But for a day or so it was horrible here in the northeast. Conditions at BOS at one point were: 1/2 mi. visibility, 40 mph gusts, snow, snow and more snow! Up here in NH we recieved a good amount, I want to go back home to SC!

I worked last night. And I can tell you at American well had 11 overnighters and I think 5 of them where airplanes we worked on the night before. So I spend a couple of hours driving and sliding around taking pictures of the snow birds. Only thing is it was so windy and snowy most of the pictures or snow on the lens.

Actually, like I've said before on an other snow storm thread.....this is pretty typical weather for the northeast.....just not this big for a first storm of the year. Anyway, as I sit here watch the New England Patriots play, its still snowing at a pretty good rate.
