I read an article on AEROCROATIA's website and it said that the Embraer 170 visited Zagreb on its World Tour on a promotional flight from Zagreb-Split. It also said Croatia Airlines was a potential customer and is intersted in ordering sevral aircrafts of that size to change the ATR-42's. Does anyone know if they will order the ERJ-145 and ERJ-170? Does anyone know when and if they will order these planes and when will delivery begin, maybe deliveries will be in 2004?

Why the hell do they want to order that crappy Brazilian Aircraft.
They should order the A318 as will complement their existing fleet of A319's and A320's. Will enable crew to operate all aircraft amd keep maintenenace costs low!

Your statement clearly shows that not only have you never gotten anywhere near an Embraer 170, you obviously have not read anything about it and are totally ignorant about the E170/190 aircraft family.

Giledavies-your remarks in addition to what planemaker said shows you don't know very much about A/C. The A318 to replace an ATR? The A318 is much different then a E170/190. Its much heavier and almost another step up.If this would have been the case that the A318 was a E170/190 competitor, why wouldn't JetBlue just bought those? For the exact reason I said, different needs, different market! Granted the E170 is upgrade from an ATR, its not as drastic as a A318. And by the way, Brazil makes a hell of a good plane!

I have flown on the ERJ-145 with CO quite a few times, and I must say it is a great plane, and the ERJ-145 would be the best replacement for the ATR-42's on Croatia Airlines fleet, CO replaced their ATR's with the ERJ-145's.
