I was wondering which US airline do you guys think carriers the most celebrities? My vote goes to American Airlines. I've seen several at their terminal at JFK.

I've seen this thread on here before, and I believe the consensus then was also AA.

Most celebrities fly the airline with the most convienent (re: nonstops) schedule... since AA/UA have the largest presence of any carrier with a premium cabin in the Los Angeles area, naturally they're going to carry more Hollywood-types... but all network carriers get their share.

If they absolutely positively have set foot on a commercial airliner (because they are all clamoring for biz jet trips to avoid the TSA looking up their keesters!)...I have to say from what I have seen personally (as IP pointed out with Hollywood being the key factor here) and LAX-JFK being the premium run....AA is the Unofficial Carrier of the Stars. If you ever do an LAX-JFK AA flight it's almost a done deal that there'll be a celeb on your flight. You might not know them by name (they could be B list actors, new talent, many musicians)...it could be a studio honcho..where you know the name, but can't place the face (they like it that way). I'll stake anything that it's AA over UA by a runway mile. But all those loyal to AA, are MileagePLUS mems too..just incase ..as a handy standby. It's called playin' both sides against the middle.

Just to throw this in for fun, note how its the LAX-JFK flight that is known for celeb sightings and not the LAX-EWR flight  Smile

One time, my wife was watching some E! show on celebrities behaving badly. They were out at LAX, and I noticed that every celebrity was in Terminal 4, which is AA.

A friend of mine, who is an AA pilot has told me that LAX is the station with the highest rate of first-class passengers who double or triple-book flights. It's because of the studios that are sending stars and executives to New York.

He's probably right. I once had change a flight from LAS to ORD, and AA put me through LAX. The gate agent upgraded me to First Class on LAS-LAX, but First out of LAX was full. When the plane pushed back at LAX, I looked and counted only 14 seats out of 20 occupied.

Exactly Ckfred...they've been double/triple booking for decades and they'll even go so far to purchase the seat next them (why not...a go good agent will negotiate it into your contract that the studio or production pays) so that no one sits next to you. And another seat for the body guard/security.

"note how its the LAX-JFK flight that is known for celeb sightings and not the LAX-EWR flight"

yep Ripieces...no self respecting B-list celeb is gonna tell someone he/she had their limo pick them up at EWR. In this case it's JFK 1) cause the Hamptons are nearby and for the manhattan-bound ones...well...it's the prestige thing and someone else's 'upfront' driving!
