LHR-JFK G-VHOT. Probably the smoothest flight I've ever been on. Absolutely NO turbulence from take off to wheels down. Rather boring actually, i didn't realize how much turbulence makes a flight fun.

LHR - IAD in early December 02'

Nothing special, a clean A340 with horrible seat pitch, mediocre cabin crew decent inflight entertainment and pretty good catering for Y.

I don't get why people feel VS is so great I have flown them four times and I was never overly impressed. I find the F/A's quite up tight but pretty/handsome as far as British folks go. I would trade it all for a couple of inches of seat pitch.

Stop the squeeze...

Aug 25, LHR-JFK, B747-400, G-VFAB. Uneventful flight. Too bad the IFE is not like that of the A340-600.

10th October 2003, SFO-LHR on G-VBIG

at last I had a VS flight with the V:Port IFE, it may have been a night flight, but I was awake all night - movies galore!

wasn't my best VS flight though, the best ones I've had have been at the front of the plane  Smile

23 August 2003, SFO - LHR on G-VBIG

It was a better experience than the LHR - SFO leg. More kudos attributable to v: port than anything else to be honest.

london (heathrow) to jfk. while i always fly coach domestically, we flew virgin's premium economy. virgin premium economy sucks. it cost more than true business class on air france (which is spectacular). anyway, the seats were fair, legroom poor, and the foot was grotesque. the only thing going to virgin in premium economy is its flight attendants. wow.

One year ago yesterday, LGW-MIA VS5.

Great flight back home to Florida after taking my daughter over for her fifth birthday. Cabin crew were excellent and the flight was very smooth on G-VTOP.

Never flown with them and I never will if they don't give people some leg space, get nice people at the check in where a reserved seat means NOTHING.

I'm over 6ft and leg room was no problem on VS when I have flown economy. Granted I didn't sit in every seat. In addition to VS in the past year I have flow BA, EK, GA, UA, AA, DL, and the only one in my vastly less experienced opinion which has a noticeable difference in economy is AA.

As you yourself say that you have never flown VS; perhaps if you spoke from experience and not the opinions of others your point would be more meaningful.

Well said JT8D

Whilst I agree that VS should increase its economy pitch - if you haven't sat in it, dont comment on it.

VS & BA are identical in pitch in economy - I wish they'd both get bigger.

DEL-SFO via LHR and back about 7 months ago. Got upgraded to Upper Class on two sectors (LHR-SFO and LHR-DEL) so it was kind of great, I would fly them again because they have very reasonable mid-day arrival/departure timings from/to DEL.

Matter of fact, if you try, you can swing a fairly comfortable overnight stay at LHR deal free, too.

I am sorry i don't know what the exact figures are.. But VS is slightly more cramped than BA. I HAVE SAT in BOTH.

Well that is BA 777 and VS 747. I don't know what BA 747 is like.

I too have flown enonomy on both VS and BA. It all depends on what seat you have as not ever seat has the same legroom. All economy seats are pretty cramped in my experience tho.

My last VS flight was HKG-LHR in Upper Class back in August on an A346, can't remember which one though !!.

My last VS flight was ATH (LGAV)-LGW on an A321 in August 2001. If I recall, the flight is no longer operated due to financial difficulties and the only narrowbody aircraft operated by Virgin has been stored. I must admit that it was a rather nice aircraft to fly on!

BOS to LHR this past February 7th, upper class. Very nice, we had a new 744 and were on the lower deck near the bar on the way over. Returned on Feb 10 on an older 744 and had seating on the upper deck for the return. We were supposedly in the quiet zone but had a few too many drinks and then saw the movie "JackAss" laughed our asses off. The FA's took a hard look at us but then saw what we were watching and chuckled themselves. I especially enjoyed the bar and massage on the return. Wasn't to bad on the flight over either. The Revivals Lounge at LHR was out of this world! I usually fly Delta Business Elite, but I put the VA product heads and tails above it and I'm a Delta fan. Delta ought to put a few of its people through on a Virgin flight to see how to do it right.

LHR-EWR 14/3/03 on an A343 I believe. I was in a foul mood due to flying on to GRU from EWR on business that same night, but the FAs were gorgeous, very flirtatious and improved my mood no end.

Going to NRT in Upper Class at Easter on CO Onepass miles - anyone any feedback on the "New" Upper Class experience? Flown VS Upper Class a couple of times in the dim and distant past and.....not overly impressed....

Heathrow-San Francisco (July 10th 2003)

It was G-VBIG and i was in Premium Economy. Great flight, with v:port!!!

Los Angeles-Heathrow (July 31st 2003)

It was G-VWOW and i was in economy and it was a terrible flight. Nothing to do with VS though. Just that i got no window and my V:Port TV was rubbish and the remote kept flickering.
