No news, heard the same chatter, from a CPA no less. He called me about 1 p.m. local to say that a 747 had just done a low pass over the Galleria area. I couldn't get to window to see her in time. Headed towards Ellington.

This from KHOU Channel 11 in Houston:
The T-38 jet was photographing the 747 for a research project on flight safety, according to NASA.
Many people who saw the plane were concerned that it was in trouble but NASA officials say that wasn't the case.
NASA officials admit that in retrospect they should have warned the public that the flight was no cause for concern. They say no other similar flights are planned.

More really stupid thinking by US government officials who should know better! No wonder people are still afraid to fly here...Reminds me of when FAA gave approval to a CO 777 full of troops returning from Afghanistan to buzz lower Manhattan, with the obviously predictable result of panic amongst New Yorkers having 9/11 flashbacks, 9/11 of course being why these troops were in Afghanistan to begin with!!
