MH signed a purchase agreement with Airbus Industrie for 6 A380 today. 3 A380s are expected to be delivered to MH in 2007 and the rest in 2008. For more information, click on the link below:

Edit: Interesting to note that there was a picture of MH's A380 in NY Times' special flight column yesterday.

Regards.

I guess it will be 6 firm orders instead of 4 firm and 2 on option. MH will also take delivery of one 744 in 2007 and 2008.

BTW anyone knows if MH has chosen the layout for the A380?

It was also reported that MH is interested in buying more A388s once their techincal capabilites and economics are proven. Also, they are not looking into buying ultra long-haul aircrafts (B772LR and A345) in the near future. Previously, MH is really keen on buying B772LR for nonstop flights to Los Angeles and New York.

The MAS A380 layout is still in the early stages, but will be 3-class (FC & BC + some EY on upper deck and full EY main deck). Seating should be between 510 and 555 I would think.

Engine choice haven't been decided yet but could well be the GP7000 to balance the US-Europe trade.

Can't wait to see the giant when it's finally built.
