OK, at first I thought the whole "Top 5" idea was kind of silly, but now I'm intrigued. What are your Top 5 airports -- not for spotting or variety of aircraft, but layout, appearance, convenience, etc.

I can understand how some connecting traffic is difficult at DFW -- but in my experience it's hard at IAH as well!

Ybacpa,
just curious, what have you got against DCA? The new terminal opened in '98 (i think) is beautiful, easy to navigate, has great views of the monuments and Potomac, and is 10 minutes from downtown via metro. What more could you ask for?

No. 1: SNA! Where else are you going to be surrounded in Marble and greeted with Palm Trees? Cleanest, Beautifullest airport
Worst? DTW and LAX (I can't come up with 5).
The United terminal at DTW seems to be the armpit of the place (I don't fly NW, so I don't see the new terminal that much).
LAX is just disgusting when you're flying domestic. Last time I flew out of LAX and was sitting at the gate, for a minute there I thought I was in some run-down hospital waiting room in the middle of South Central.

My Top 5:
Seoul (ICN) - beautiful architecture.
Fort Lauderdale (FLL) - fast in and out, easy to navigate, 5 mins to the beach!
Amsterdam (AMS) - easy transfers, great shopping.
Barcelona (BCN) - chic airport for a chic city.
Vancouver (YVR) - very Canadian, clean.
Bottom 5:
Sao Paulo (GRU) - very ugly, rude and disorganized.
Miami (MIA) - hell to arrive at. spread out, dark.
New York Kennedy (JFK) - hell to arrive at. Spread out and dark.
Los Angeles (LAX) - just nasty, crazy line ups, rude service, ugly.
Toronto (YYZ) (Terminal 1 and 2 resemble 3rd world bunkers.) can't wait for the new Terminal 1 - about time.
