In a recent airline magazine publication it was stated that KLM has cancelled plans to acquire A340s and is now looking for second hand MD-11s for it to add to its fleet. Way to go KLM.

That's nice to hear. At least KLM and Fed Ex will have MD-11's for a long time. I really like the MD-11.

ya how come both il76 and I havent heard about this?
Im very skeptical about this, I know they have shelved the A340, but keeping the MD-11's, well.....
who knows, time will tell.
The MD-11s are very nice aircrafts though, I think if KLM plans to acquire more MD-11's they should get the Combi ones, just like its almost whole owned competitor Martinair.

My source was this months or is it next months Aircraft Illustrated. It stated that plans to acquire the A340s were shelved and they were looking for second-hand MD-11s.
