Hi!

Like many here expected SWISS closed today! But with big efforts from all the parts they re-started right away. If you look closely to the NEW SWISS there are some slight differences from the "old" SWISS.
The red of the livery is a little bit lighter ( just a little bit, you have to really look closely to find that out! ). The word SWISS is smaller than the earlier one ( just very, very little.... ) and the white cross on the tail of the aircrafts is about 2 cm bigger. And that's it! The new SWISS is born.
Now talking seriously, it is really sad to see all these rumours about SWISS, people probably don't believe but this really affects the airline, why people would say and do this regarding SWISS? I don't know! I don't like that, it is so low that sicks me!
They are flying and that what counts to me!!!! They'll will sucessed!!!
Regards

Hi RJ100!

I really don't know about that! I can check it out! You know all this new design was hidden for some time in a place right in the middle of the Alps. I think it was by Sentis!
If was big fuzz on secrecy, that why no one knew! Did you notice the differences? I really hope to see the new SWISS livery in the photo engine really soon!!!

So I guess this is Swissair III. If they REALLY want to start fresh, dump the MD-11 please!!!! I live in Halifax and I can still remember images from the 111 crash which sealed Swissair 1s fate.

I have flown ZRH-LAX and LAX-ZRH several times (on Swissair) on the MD-11.

Great plane the MD-11 (also the A-340 of course) great service and always a pleasure, although that the flight lasts almost 13 hours...

Bmacleod: I think you did not realize that CV990 just wanted to make a joke because earlier this week someone posted a rumour that SWISS would stop flying today...

BTW, they are phasing out the MD-11s.

ps: I agree about the MD-11s, RJ100! I have never flown on an MD-11, but the MD-11 is the greatest aircraft that I haven't flown on.

If SWISS closed today, how come it's not indicated on their website? Is this a stupid joke CV990?

Hi!

Come guys, have a little of Christmas spirit here! I mentioned in the topic what I really wanted to emphasise, that people come with those rumours about closing down airlines, that was my sarcastic moment!!! It was not a stupid joke! If you actually had sometime to read ALL the topic you would find that out!
But let me tell you I had a lot of fun writting that!!!

I'm still curious about that NW buyout by LH - with the intent of replacing all 320s with NWs DC9s... Big grin ... anything new on that?

Merry Christmas!

Hi DALelite!

It was not my purpose... it was just a way to show how mad I get anytime I see posts talking about SWISS closing, just that!
Just wanted to give some animation to this forum, it's always good to have the feedback! I sincerely hope that SWISS will make it, and I'm confident they will! Civil aviation need SWISS around!
Happy holidays!

Ok chaps, Swiss International is up and running with the same livery, no changes, no OneWorld stickers yet as they aren't official members yet.

For latest fleet info, see http://www.aerpix.net/AP/SwissFleet.htm

Cheers and good night!

Hi Unique!

Good words " SWISS is up and running with the same livery...."! I can't believe actually some people believed that the red was slight light, etc. etc. But it was fun!
Thanks for the update on SWISS fleet!

If I would get JMD it would be spectacular!!! We'll see!
