I'm flying, back of the bus, on a BA 777 from LHR to IAD this week. What's the best way to manage a free bump or upgrade to World traveler or Plus. (would ask about business class upgrades, but as I've tried that about 1,000 times, never once successful, I'll just stick with premium economy). Anyone have any good ideas or success stories with BA?
History shall be kind to me; for I intend to write it -WSC

What date is that?.
BA policy is one cabin upgrade so Y to J is out of the question.
However is the flight is over sold in Y there is always a chance and would be happy to comment SFU for a fellow A.net member

Actually Y to J is not impossible. BA was nice enough to upgrade TWO of my law clerks to the J cabin from LGW to IAH so we could travel together.
Although I am certain it was because I travel a good 300K/miles in Club World each year....it IS possible (the other factor being the flight was basically empty). Unfortunately, now my clerks 'expect' me to ask now each time we travel together.
Of larger concern is that when Club is oversold...they offer you a seat on another flight before offering you a F class ticket!
