Obviously the new service to YEG from PHX is doing very well. The LAS service will even do better. HP will give charters a really good competition, but will also provide more cheap fares to the Southwestern US from YEG.

What's HP's strategy, They have been adding more flights and destinations the last two years like crazy

YEG is proving to be a good market.

United started DEN-YEG service 2x daily United Express (Air Wisconsin) CRJs and upgraded it to 3x daily shortly after.

I hear it is a huge success.

Yep, this is quite doing very well with UA & HP was added extra flight on their way to YEG flight. What are you think still able get more CRJ-900 to YEG flight? Thanks!  Smile

Good thing to hear they'll continue on consolidating their LAS hub. Strategy? I imagine that contributes to build a wider, healthier and more complete network to connect most North American cities with the US southwest. Although in a recent thread was mentioned that HP had serious plans on adding more point-to-point markets, such as the east coast.

Hope nothings stops them now !

I like to see mainline service to YEG. HP operates CRJs so does UA in Air Wisconsin and Horizon Air.

The only mainline operations out of YEG into the US are NW flights to MSP and one lonely flight per day to IAH (CO).

Way back in the days, DL operated three daily flights to SLC on 727's and AA opearted a daily flight (through YYC) to DFW on a MD80

Definately good news for Edmonton and for America West.

Good to see that all these new markets they are entering are performing well. It will be interesting to see if in a year frequencies are bumped up or a larger plane is put on that route. Starting with a CR9 is a good indication.

This flight is doing extremely well....while it's being served by a CR7, those aircraft are being switched to the UA operation and it will be upgraded to a CR9 shortly. It's full just about everyday!

In addition to YEG, we are adding new nonstops out of Las Vegas to :

Austin, TX -- CRJ
Cleveland, OH -- A319
El Paso, TX -- B733/B732
San Antonio, TX -- CR9
Vancouver, Canada - CR9

Also increasing service to Dallas, Colorado Springs, Eugene, Minneapolis, Raleigh-Durham, Spokane, Toronto, and Washington/Dulles.

Damn, more LAS service to YVR?

We already have Westjet (2x weekly), HMY (2x weekly), Skyservice (2x or 4x weekly), and Alaska (7x weekly). I don't believe that Air Canada flies to LAS anymore. That's a lot of flights!
