Does anybody have any information regarding when will Jetstar begin interviews for recruitment at Melbourne Airport?

There is and will not be any airline in Oz named Jetstar! Jetstar currently, and for the foreseeable future will be a trading name of Impulse Airlines Pty Ltd(AOC holder), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group.

The reason for pointing this out is that there will not be a large take up of new staff to start a new airline, as they are already in place! Yes Impulse will expand when the A320 arrive,(July 04 for the first one, I believe) not much before then.

Impulse is still a fully functioning airline, except for no reservations system. This is being put in place and it looks like it will be, at least to some extent, a resurrection of the old Impulse one, but that is not certain.

Then why is it that this airline is accepting interest for positions

Didn't say Impulse isn't recruriting, just don't expect a large intake to start, they have most of the necessary "start up" staff on board except for reversations (which is likely to be contracted out) and check in/customer service staff (which I forgot in my earlier post).

Operations staff including pilots, FA, engineering, dispatch and ground handling are all in place. Yes they will be expanding these, hence the acceptance of expressions of intrest, but not all in a big rush, like when Impulse and Virgin first started up. They are not setting up from scratch, they are expanding an existing organisaion, not the same thing.
