Air India is poised to have its 4th change of leadership in as many months when the Civil Aviation ministry appoints bureaucrat V. Tulasidas as the head of the airline next month.
The airline has been under the charge of Sunil Arora, head of Indian Airlines, since August. You may recall the drama in August when the airline went through 3 CEOs in 14 hours.
Tulasidas is a 1972 batch IAS officer from the Tripura cadre and currently serves as an additional secretary in the ministry of defence. Prior to this he was chief secretary in Tripura and has also held posts in the forestry department.
Tulasidas allegedly beat out Rajasthan Electricity Board chairman DC Kamath for the job. Sunil Arora, the current chief, was also considered but did not make the cut for the shortlist.
