UA 744's To FRA-Summer 2004

I'm scheduled to fly ORD-FRA on 7/3/2004. My reservation shows a 772 right now, but since UA is taking most (if not all) of their 744's out of the desert and putting them back into service, does anyone know if the ORD-FRA route might be upgraded to a 744?

Thanks...

I thought that UAs 744s operate only or mostly on the Pacific routes

I think they mostly operate Pacific routes, I know they operate to LHR using 744's, but I'm *pretty sure* that other then that they mostly go to the Pacific routes.

Not that there is anything wrong with the 772!  Smile

Thanks! I've never flown on a 772 (or a 744 for that matter) so either works for me. I'd prefer a 772, but thought maybe they'd put a 744 to FRA from ORD.

I must have been thinking of the impending upgrade on the ORD-LHR run instead.  Insane

At the moment only some LHR routes are planned to operate with B744s during summer 2004. FRA service remains B777s

The last few summers we (UA) have added extra sections and subbed in the 744 on a random basis for FRA and LHR from the US to help with the very very full flights.

If your itinerary says 777 then chances are that's what it will be, but you never know if they'll sub in a 744! The 777 is better for Economy so hope for that, but business and first--- it's all about the 744!

I have been on 2 different kinds of 747's. UA 747's look good in those colors that they have now. I went ona 747-200 overwater and a 747-400 and I thought the plane was lacking a bit of room expecially the 200. However, I still think that UA 747's are good.

The current UA 744 flight into LHR is on the 918/9 from/to IAD.
