Update on New Livery Aircraft

Through Dec. 23, 96 Northwest aircraft feature the airline's new paint scheme including 26 new deliveries since the beginning of April. The latest to be painted in the new livery is an A320, ship No. 3278.

Nothing to get to excited over, but here's another one to look out for.

I visited BNA on Sunday and all of the NWA DC9 aircraft that operated there were wearing the new colors. (watch for photo uploads soon) In addition, I watched several contrails across the sky which were new colors NWA planes. I only saw 2 contrails of old colors jets.

The last time I was in BNA, Nov. 1, there were NO new colors NWA planes.

I was in DTW the other day and could not beleive how many new c/s a/c there were. They really look sharp, esp. in the winter months. The old sheme used to get so dirty. Rumor has it that a 742 is in the paint shop as we speak so keep your fingers crossed! Thanks for the up to date info Jetjack.

Actually, they are a bitch to photograph. The nose is silver which reflects a lot and it is extremely hard not to get a "hot spot" in a photograph on the nose when shot in sunny weather. I think the silver reflects more light than the white.

I just flew into DTW on Saturday night, as we taxied to our gate, all that I saw were old colors. I walked from Gate A24 all the way to the exit and the only new color plane that I saw was an A330.
