Tunisair Hajj flights are to start on January 4th 2004.For the first time the airline will operate to both Medina and Jeddah, and this with 27 charters to Jeddah and 11 charters to Medina.Flights have been scheduled out of 8 international airports as follows :
16 flights from Tunis.
8 flights from Monastir.
5 flights from Sfax.
4 flights from Djerba.
2 flights from Gafsa.
1 flight from Tabarka,Tozeur, and Gabes each.
The Hajj flight from Gabes will be the first commercial movement from this renewed military air base.
Tunisair will increasingly use its AB6s which have been configurated to 241 Y and this to increase the cargo, luggage and items of Pilgrims, capacity of aircrafts.
Passengers who will arrive in Jeddah will depart from Medinah, and vice versa, and this will be less tiring for the Pilgrims who will make only one way Mekka-Medina by coach.
