Will BA order the A380 to operate on the Kangaroo route? The QF, SQ, Emirates, Malaysia and Cathay having them they will find it hard to compete without them.

I also wonder what effect it would have on the JSA with QF if they stay with the 744.

It looks as though they will have to order them.

Cathay hasn't ordered the A380 yet.

Nobody will "have" to order them...Assuming airlines load them with every seat possible, BA won't have a problem sticking with 747s.

If Boeing does develop a 747 Advaned, I expect Cathay and BA to be some of the cusomters, along with JAL and ANA.

Well if QF, EK, SQ, MH and alike are able to operate the A380 on the ultra long haul routes from LHR to the far east at a lower seat cost per mile than the 747 then surely BA is at a disadvantage when it comes down to price as I would assume the savings gained would be passed onto the passengers. Just a thought that crossed my mind anyway.

BA is rationalizing downward, not upward.

After the economy recovers, I expect they might start heading back towards that, but not right away.

I'd heard that BA were ditching their B744's in favours of B777's.
