I've 2 questions:

I think these 2 airlines (AM and MX) have the same main shareholder.
So why are they not considering a merger?
They could establish a major group in Mexico and North America.
(MX left Star, this new group could join Skyteam...)

What're the differences between AM and MX regarding comfort, service, punctuality etc... ??

In terms of service, this is what I think is the difference- AM is kind of more of an int. (besides the U. S.) and MX is more I guess an airline that services the U. S. and only focuses on that particural area.

At this time both are controlled by Cintra and are currently going under a several-years deep renovation process which will make them more attractive to sell. They are about to achieve it though. I definitely would not like to see them merger in one as they both have gained great reputation for service and safety and are doing okay by their own. Also, antitrust entities would not approve it.

I agree that they could build together a MAJOR group in Northamerica, nevertheless at this point they can do much more being by themselves.

About your last question; It is really difficult to compare one with the other; AM is slightly bigger than MX; both have differents markets being MX the one that holds a bit larger slice of the US market. They both directly serve the US, Canada, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Guatemala, France, Spain, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Venezuela. Service-wise it is known that AM provides a better delivery on some routes.

About their fleet my friend Ghost77 will certainly give you more accurate information.

Hmmm...

1. It certainly woudln't be a bad idea to have a merger between this two companies and it would definitely be a MAJOR and big player in North America, but as Fly727., both have gained a reputation., so I also think it would be better to leave the things the way they are.

What're the differences between AM and MX regarding comfort, service, punctuality etc... ??

Thanks !!
I hope to see one day an Aeromexico B772 at CDG or MAD...

Why AM is not flying to EZE ?

Is it profitable for MX to become a long-haul carrier with B763 ?

Unfortunately right now AM is not thinking on getting 772..... I think this is what everybody wants or I would love to see some DL's MD11s 4 or 5 being leased to AeroMexico.... but MD11 is not being considered and the 772 its considered for the end of 04 or for sure 2005. It all depends on Mexican economy growth and US economy also.

Why AM is not flying to EZE?

CINTRA leaders actions.... more reasons are unknow! Its been said MX will make public in Feb 04 their new plans and changes.

Is it profitable for MX to become a long-haul carrier with B763?

If AeroMexico, Avianca, Pluna, Lan Chile, Varig and more fly 767 for long haul and they are successful! Lots of airlines fly the 67 long haul.....
