I have read several posts in this forum that state that UL is such a great airline. Can anyone comment and/or compare them to other airlines?

Also, what is their link with Emirates?

Virtually completely owned by EK and managed by them, which probably accounts for their excellence in most regards, especially IFE.

No They don't. EK only own 40%.

EK signed an agreement in 1998 to buy a 40% stake and to manage UL for 10 years.

After years of corruption and mis-management by then state controlled management, they are now a truly first class airline thanks to EK's managemet input. Have been making good profits for the past few years when other world airlines were loosing money.
