A friend of mine told me that his flight from the big island to SFO was on a "Red Alert" and was de-planed and had every person checked and didn't leave until 2:00am local time. Does anyone have any more info on this I can't see what kind of threats would come out of Hawaii other than someone making it into Hawaii from Asia or some other country then flying into the mainland of the US(because it's a domestic flight) on a large carrier. Never seen this before.

Since your friend said his flight from the Big Island to SFO, it can't be HA11, which goes SFO-HNL. I also doubt it was HA since there was no news of a HA or any other flight being delayed for security concerns. Scheduled ETD for HA12 is 1:55pm. Yesterday, HA12 was delayed for 1 hour, most likely due to the late arrival of HA11. Today, HA12 went out on time. Also, it couldn't have been HA out of KOA or ITO since there is no way an interisland flight would be delayed that long, the flight crews would be illegal. Last scheduled departure out of KOA is 7:05pm and ITO is 7:35pm.
The only other airline I can think of is UA, but like I said, there has been no news of any sort of delay due to security concerns. The only thing I could find was UA64 HNL-SFO on 04Jan ETD 11:55pm Actual 2:35am due to aircraft servicing. If it was delayed due to security, you would have to report it as a delay due to security.
