Hello -

Today I saw the first 777-200 for PIA. I tried to take a picture but couldn't because of Boeing Security. I can tell you though from my own eyes it looks beautiful! It must have been painted today because that paint sure did look awesome with the new livery. Hopefully somebody with better skills will take a picture of the 777 soon!

Hi Farhan!

Good news that it's painted and getting ready for delivery! I was hoping you could describe the livery; there has been some reports that the tail now has the Pakistani flag and the sand color extends up on the tail. There was a previous thread on this with an ad scanned from a newspaper in Pakistan.

Take Care

Congratulations to PIA !

As an Indian I feel sad that while PIA took a decision and ordered 777s, our own Air India is still in the process of ordering .......that too, A340-300s, which to my mind is a mistake.....

Farhan, send us a pic as soon as you can !

Hey Lars, from what I saw the tail has the PIA logo and the main body had the Pakistan logo on it. There is also a little design on the belly of the aircraft, sort of like a wave. I am sure I also saw that little urdu symbol next to the Pakistan symbol that PIA has on there aircraft. I am sure it's urdu, please correct me if I am wrong. It's a very nice and simple livery.

I'll try to head out and get a picture for you guys!

Hope this helps.

The PIA 777-200 had this same exact livery on it. It looks much better though on the 777-200 than the A310-300.

Im so glad they retained the livery rather than go for the tacky flag bit.

.....up there with the best!

Stupid tailfin design, too much white. They should have kept it green with white or off-white text.

Well, having just seen AP-BGO at DXB this morning, I think it looks pretty good. The photo @ jetphotos.net doesn't really do it justice as I think it was shot through glass (I believe from the food hall area above the check-in area).

In the 'flesh', the sand colour has a much better contrast with the white. It looks good!

The livery does contain the flag on the tail and it has the two tone effect just as in Gulf Air.... the livery was shown on an huge advertisement in a local newspaper in Pakistan...my only reservation about the livery, as i have said many times before, is that i wish they had Pakistan written in Urdu with large letters like Emirates has...that would have looked so classy and nice.
