RR Powered A330-300 Vs A340-300

Posted (9 years 4 months 2 weeks 4 days 17 hours ago) and read 1791 times:

does a RR powered A330-300 outperform an A340-300? Of course not in terms of range. jus trying to figure if CX using the A330-300 on its SYD route is bcos the A330 has better performance or its A340-300 are just needed elsewhere?

Comparing the A330 to the A340 is just like comparing apples to oranges.

I would imagine that like almost all twin jets the A330 is more economical to operate on the relatively short distance from SYD-HKG, therefore that's what they choose to use.
