Given the flights that depart from Atlanta to any overseas destination's, are certain aircrafts better than others. Roominess, comfort of flight, etc.?

Well, only the 777 and 767 fly overseas with Delta and 777's and A340's with Lufthansa, BA, and Air France from ATL. I, along with most I would assume, would say the 777 because of modern features.

NW should be pretty good if you can get on one fo their new A330s, otherwise you're gonna get stuck on a DC10-30. CO should be good, their 767-400ERs are supposedly step up very nicely as well as their 777-200s. Not too sure on AZ, probally a 777-200 or a 767-300ER similar to DL. Are you trying to cash in skymiles? If not, you have endless possibilities.

Don't forget about SAA's 744's with the PTV's. Economy classs seats on the upperdeck feature 34 inch seatpitch.
Unfortunately SAA will start using the A346 on the Atlanta / South Africa route, within the next few weeks. They have PTV's as well, but the seat pitch is not too generous - it's a paltry and very cramped 31 inches for a very long flight.

Each time I fly to the US it is usually on Delta's 777 DL11 service from LGW-ATL and DL12 on the return leg.
I have also flown on their 763 on this route and have to say that I prefer the 777 because the cabin seems more spacious, the seats more comfortable, and I just like the feel of the 777.
My travel plans usually include my partner who insists on PTV's whenever possible, so that's a factor too!
