If SNA could handle 767-200's (or if they currently can) where would you fly them to IN THE US??? What about: JFK, IAD, MIA, ORD, and DFW???? too competitive for a new airline?

Well they can not fly a 767 full of passengers into SNA right know. But I do not think they will use the 767 alot for domestic routes probably just to JFK and United and American would do that maybe TWA.

How about a Air Canada to yvr. yyz and yul? [sorry those are not in the us] or maby to phx? because the 737s that fly that route [if any] are not comfortable.

I do not know the take off/landing distance of a 767 but I have seen 757 using the whole runway.

From the sound of things, it might not be the runway that is an obstacle to 767 operations at SNA, at least lightly loaded ones. According to the SNA official website, they are planning to reinforce taxiway A and other portions specifically to meet the weight requirements of the 767s.

I suppose that the 767s might be "international" flights from SNA to Europe via a connecting hub destination like JFK, ORD, DFW, or DEN. That way, I suppose, an airline could offer a "direct" flight from John Wayne, but of course it would only be partially filled (both with people and fuel) when it left. Or am I underestimating the takeoff abilities of the 767.

BTW, doesn't there seem to be a somewhat disproportional amount of SNA-center discussion on this board? Not that there's anything wrong with that!
