Won't be on the SkyTeam website before it is officially announced. That's still my bet. Although this former Platimum would be happy if it had something to do with an removal of some of the stupid changes that have been made to OnePass....

Here it is, fresh off the wires:
HOUSTON, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Air Lines (NYSE: CAL - News) announced today it will be the first airline to offer its customers transatlantic and transpacific regional jet service, effective April 1. The new service will be operated using new, state-of-the-art Embraer ERJ-145XXR aircraft seating 50 passengers in a comfortable layout with no middle seats. Continental has placed an order for 100 of the new aircraft, which will be delivered at a rate of six per month, replacing older 767 and 777 equipment on service to Europe from the convenient gateways of Newark-Liberty International and Houston-George Bush Intercontinental. The first route for the new aircraft will be from Newark to London-Gatwick, followed by Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam. Starting in September, the Embraers will replace 777 aircraft on Continental's routes to Tokyo and Hong Kong.
"We have been very pleased with the comfort and reliability of Embraer's regional jets here in North America, and are looking forward to building on our success by expanding the service throughout our global network," said Gordon Bethune, Continental's chief executive officer. "We are excited to be the U.S. launch customer for the ERJ-145XXR, and although the 767 and 777 have served us well, the regional jet is clearly the way of the future here at Continental."

A purchase of UA's South Pacific operations seems like a pretty crazy rumor, considering that CO has been in cash-conservation mode for the last two-plus years and still doesn't have the liquidity cushion they'd ideally like to have. Not to mention the fact that CO still possesses rights to Australia.
My bet would be on SkyTeam as well, given how quickly the DL codeshare has been moving along.

I can't find anything on this at all. It seems to be tightlipped if it is anything at all. It will not be buying UAL assets and moving to SFO, and despite the humour of the Embraer 145XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXLR, it will not be that either. Despite Gordon wanting to be the launch customer for the 7E7, it will not be that, therefore I believe it will be the formal announcement on the Skyteam issue, and I say formal as it is not a secret, everyone knows it is happening and Gordon has said so many time, or lastly it will be a new route announcement. My bet is one of the last two. If it is a new route announcement, I see it either being the IAH-MAD route, or the IAH-LOS route
