In Britain we use fireworks to mark the anniversary of the day that a chap called Guy Faulks tried to blow up our "Houses of Parliament". He failed unfortuneately.
About 10 years ago I was airbourne in a Piper PA-28 and saw fireworks come up to meet me! Fantastic sight. I was at 2000 ft and of course they got nowhere near, but still a unique way to enjoy the spectacle.

Yes, but from a C-152. I went with a friend of mine and we circled the fireworks over the Detroit River this past summer. It was awesome! There were about 4-5 other GA planes circling, too. It wasn't too bad once another plane established a pattern, though. There were some faster ones that kept passing us (Damn Moony's ).

I saw them when I was coming over central London to LHR from SVO. It was early November (2003) and there were fireworks everywhere! It was really good, everyone was glued to the windows of either side of the plane.
Great seeing loads - and I mean loads! - of fireworks going off all over the place.
