It's not a trimmed down video. There are certain things that flight attendants do to get passengers ready for an emergency landing.
They go over the exit positions and show the card again.
They show and explain the brace position and make sure everyone knows how to do it.
They make sure the passengers know how to unfasten their seat belts. This is done by having the passengers unfasten, refasten, and then unfasten the belts again. You'd be surprised how many people don't know how to get them loose in an emergency. Once the F/As know that everyone knows how to get out of the seat belt, the belts are all fastened again.
They explain what the signal for the passengers to brace will be.
They explain that it is necessary to remain seated, braced, and buckled in until the airplane has totally stopped.....not some kind of slow roll or the first bounce of a crash.....a full complete stop.
This is the essence of what the safety video contains. The same thing can be done by a flight attendant simply making an announcement explaining all of those things while the F/As do show and tell in the aisle.
