Which is the queen of the skies? The 707 because it was the first? The 747 cos it is the largest? The Concorde cos it was the fastest? The VC10 cos it had very graceful lines?Or the connie which is ever so popular?Or....
Why don't you nominate one?

The 747 is, and has been, the queen of the skies for many reasons.

I would also have to agree with the 747 being the Queen of the Skies, although we all know that she's not the largest anymore.

My vote goes for the 747 too! The title of Pricess of the skies goes then to A330?

For me it's got to be the 747, the unique shape, size, speed and power means it's in a class of it's own, it's a legend. This proud record will diminish though when the A380 rolls out.

It has to be Concorde. The only plane in the world that could do what she could do. People used to stop in the street to look up when she passed overhead or stop by the side of the runway. People don't do that for any other a/c.

Carrying hundreds of pax and flying at 550mph seems like easy sport.

Cheers

We've had a lot of votes for "queen".

What about "king"?

777 or A340 anyone?

Since Concorde stopped it's got to be the 747 - for the time being.

King of the skies? The B52?

Mike

In my view, the only one who comes close to the 747 is the 777.
