Well It appears that DL is about to close the deal to re-start the DL connection service to SLC from EUG operated by Skywest! Looks good to me! I just wonder where in the hell they are planing to park this RJ...

Doesn't Eugene have sufficient ramp space to handle RJ's?

Can any of the jetbridges (at gates B1-B6) in EUG handle CRJs? How is UA Express doing its CRJ service there?

There are four jet bridges at EUG. In addition there are three "Regional gates" they are like little funky gates. And theres a few ramps or hard stands. ALL Jet bridges are RJ compatible. However, I've heard UAX is going to over night four RJs pretty soon, and QX over nights three planes, and mesa overnights one as well... The ramp gets really crowded. But I can think of about three different places they could possibly park the plane. As far as UAX's op here. they do pretty good. Pretty soon they will have 7 daily RJs to SFO, currently it's six. They also have 5 EMBs a day in addition to two RJs to DEN (One a -700)

Do you long for the days of mainline United, Hughes Airwest, PSA, American, Continental, etc.?
How many total flights a day are there out of EUG these days. I have only been there once in Fall of '02, nice terminal there.

This will help all those paxs that drive to PDX to fly on DL. I hear EUG is a nice place.

I'm going to school in Eugene, and EUG is a great little airport.

I usually can't afford to fly out of there, I end up driving to Portland to fly home to the bay area. UA from SFO-EUG is $230 and PDX-OAK is like $84.

I'm broke as is, can't spend $150 I don't have  Smile

Great news for Eugene. I remember when they cancelled their previous announced service, was supposed to start in Sept or Oct of 2001.
Cheers!
Yea, great little airport too...I worked at the Budget rentacar there while in college. George, I remember that UA used to offer the flight cheaper as an efare every five or 6 weekends, check it out if you haven't already.
Cheers! Nondo

Well to answer some questions...

UAX (Skywest, Mesa, And occasionaly Air Wisconsin) provide these routes
EUG-SFO EUG X6 daily (Soon to be X7 daily)---CR2
EUG-DEN-EUG X2 daily (Will go back to X3 in a few months.---CR2/CR7
EUG-PDX-EUG (up to X5 daily on certain days)---EM2
In addition there is also a MFR-EUG flight on the EM2.

QX operates 14 daily flights to SEA, PDX, MFR, and LAX on DH8-200, DH8-400, and CRJ-700

YX operates three flights a day to LAS, and PHX on CR2 and CR7 aircraft. However Mesa does bring in the CR9 occasionaly on these routes. The CR9 will begin scheduled service here shortly however.

Hope that helps!
