Maybe they are too concerned on getting new passengers to fly with them. Also I don't think they can compete with the other US major airlines out there that carry cargo. Finally I don't think the A320's carry that much cargo anyway.

It adds a large division within the airline to manage it, developing procedures and having people trained to accept it and all the riskcs of fines from TSA/FAA for filling out paper work wrong. It takes more staff and in some instances more equipment and more space to rent so it probably just isn't worthwhile atm.

Sure the A320 can hold more cargo than a 73G. However when you are flying JFK/BOS/IAD to the west coast there is not much room for pax and fuel let alone cargo. On the other hand WN's average trip legnth is only 537 miles....
