Upgrades On AC

I have a question about upgrades. I got some AC upgrades this year. My g/f will be flying YTZ-YOW-YHZ Dash 8/BEA 146 and after YHZ-YYZ B767. I know AC does have only single class of service on YTZ-YOW. But YOW-YHZ and YHZ-YYZ there are two classes of service. The ticket I got for her was reward ticket using my aeroplan points. Can I use these upgrade to upgrade her from Economy to Business if her ticket is reward ticket?

If you are using the upgrades you got when you qualified for Aeroplan Prestige, Elite or Super Elite, there are restrictions on the fare class in which you can use them. See the back of each upgrade and you will see for how many miles they are valid and the fare class in which you can use them...

Unfortunately you cannot use the upgrade certificates on award tickets. If you read the fine print on the certificates, they can only be used on revenue tickets booked in certain classes of service. Besides, they are non transferable.
