Hey
i just got back from Puerto Rico.
I flew Jet Blue from JFK to SJU on January 15 and came back today on Jet Blue. When i got to JFK my family parked at the long term parking and it was -10 Degrees!! i froze. I saw an Swiss 340-300 take off. When i got to the terminals i saw:
4 VS 340-300s
1 South African 340-600
1 China Airlines 340-300(every time i go to JFK i always see the CA 340!)
1 CX 747-400
and a lot more airplanes that are very common at JFK.
When i arrivied at JFK it was 1:55 A.M so i went straight to the hotel. On friday i went to the Aero Parkque at SJU which is right off the main runway. I saw the normal planes
American 757s A300s 777s ATR 72s and 42s
US Airways 757 A319 A330 B767
ATA 757
Martinair MD-11
Copa 737NG
CO 757s 737s
UAL A319s.
When i came on Saturday i met a bunch of other spotters at the Aero Parqe and they told us about all the speacial visitors they see and showed us there photos. And just when we were planning to leave a IB 340-600 come sweeping in, IT WAS AMAZING!! appently they havnt opperated the 340-600 there in a while. We went back every day and from are hotel room at the Whyndam El San Juan late last night we saw another 340-600 it was amazing again. Today when i got to JFK i saw ther normal planes.
In all it was a great trip.
I want to hear from some people what they have seen on there recent trips to!

Which hotel did you stay at? 2 years ago I stayed at the Wyndham El San Juan and it had great views of the approaching and landing planes. It was cool watching an IB 742 land practically right below you as you stand on the top floor!

Just just came from my hometown! By the way, I was right there in your Windham Old San Juan Hotel walking up this afternoon.. I work in Joyeria Madrid at San Francisco Street, up from the Plaza where Christopher Columbus is. And yes, a lot of spotters at SJU. They come to AeroParque and bring their pictures taken at SJU, and we have had Iberia operating the A340-600 since November 16.. And mixed with 747-200 and A340-300 until whenever they decide which one to leave. One lucky thing you saw was the American 777 which is not commonly used to SJU; probably only on weekends, but not since long ago.
About a nice trip I saw lots of different things (since you know what's on SJU now) was in SDQ . In that trip (years ago) I saw for the first time an American MD-11 which operated regularly to SDQ (never seen on SJU). I also saw a TU-154M of Cubana de evasion which was pretty confusing. It was my first sight of a Russian plane, and boy, that was the weirdest thing I had ever seen. The placement of the main landing gears, and just the way it stands, and on top of that, Cubana. Besides, I saw an AirFrance 747-300, Spanair 767-200, AirTous A330.. an UPS 757 (they bring DC8's and A300's to SJU) and boy, that was only 45 mins (flying time) away of SJU!
