I got this in an email a few minutes ago form UA:

Free* award travel doesn’t come any easier than this: Register and fly two paid, qualifying roundtrips on United nonstop service between New York City/Boston/Newark and select cities in California from now through April 15, 2004, and you’ll get a FREE* roundtrip economy class ticket to anywhere United flies.

That’s right—ANYWHERE. Take your pick of 184 airports in 22 countries, including:

– Hong Kong – Japan – And anywhere else we can take you!
– Paris – Hawaii

So if there’s an exciting destination you’ve always wanted to visit, now is your chance to go…our treat. You can earn up to two free* tickets with this promotion.

Qualifying roundtrips are flights between: New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX) or San Francisco (SFO); Boston and Los Angeles (LAX) or San Francisco (SFO); Newark and Los Angeles (LAX).

When is this going to come to an end?

Hey, when the courts say you don't have to pay your bills, you can get away with doing a lot of nifty things!

CPDC10-30...I'd say yes, based on the posting above, and that sounds like an email that came right from UA. I'm a mileage plus customer also, but haven't seen the email yet. This time of year for Aussie...could be tough. This probably applies to United ONLY...meaning you're SOL for NZ, since UA no longer flies there.

In general: AA, DL, and now UA are going after B6. Either the majors are desperate or they've finally had it with getting their ass kicked, and fighting back like the good old days.

Will the majors win? Or will B6 be strong enough and overcome it? Should be interesting...

Let's hope the majors win.....they can't keep taking all this lowfare bull laying down....I'd like to see DL come up with some good offers to keep the pax happy-ier.

If anyone can get seats on a FREE ticket. It's hard enough getting a seat to "ANYWHERE" on FF miles.

RiDiCuLoUs!!!!! Let all the airlines LOSE money. INCLUDING B6.

Your kidding yourself if you think they can win with these deals. Great for the consumers, sucks for United, American, and Delta finances.
