AZ is probably supposed to be TZ, and AS is probably referring to the 739 since it is so similar.

I would think the AS data refers to the 737-700, operating costs are slightly below 737-800 levels, but on a percentage basis the -800 is cheaper to operate, as most of you already are aware of.

Sorry for the code error on ATA. Also, in my reference (Aviation Daily Data, Vol 12, Q1 of 2002), the -800s and -900s were combined. Regarding AS, the data says they had 5 in service. They were owned since the Rental column was empty and depreciation column had a value.

ifox,
ur basing these rates on q1-2002 correct....that was before the renegotiated contracts at ua and aa, those rates are a year old and im sure aa/ua rates are some of the cheapest amongst the big 6 now.......

"FOX...Thanks for the information it is very helpful in estimating profit and loss for flights operated on the A/C based on loads."
Actually, I have the breakdown of the costs per airiline, per type into such fun things as labor, fuel, maint., taxes, etc. Jump over to Aviation Week's site and order yourself some info!
