No the Panthers are flying to IAH. There is a thread from yesterday somewhere on it. I think they are coming in Sunday with family planes charted also.

I know the Pats usually fly a charter Delta 767-300 out PVD any reason why they are flying out of BOS? I was thinking it was either for media send off or maybe a -400 can't get out of PVD? Any thoughts?

Probably leaving BOS for media purposes. A fully loaded 767-400 should be able to make it off the ground in PVD for a flight to Houston; Air Luxor sends in their A330s (comparable to a 764) for a non-stop trans-Atlantic flight during the summer, so payload shouldn't be that big of a deal. They're probably just doing it in Boston so all the Boston stations don't have to trek down to Providence to cover the event.

New England flew into EFD back during the regular season as well. Since the team will be staying in the Galleria area, it's just a bit closer to fly into EFD vs IAH. Besides that, if they come in at the same time as the Panthers, imagine the media rush at IAH!
The weather will be iffy for pics tomorrow, but if someone in Boston or Charlotte notes these chartered planes carrying any stickers, etc. like the Raiders, Broncos, Packers have in the past, PLEASE POST IT! It'll help get me out of bed as I'm working midnights tonight and tomorrow...
Counting down the days til the Super Bowl bizjet infestation here in Houston!

If they are staying at the Galleria, then why not HOU? It's closer than EFD. The runway is 7600ft - isn't that enough?

Deltaffindfw- I'll guess ramp space might be an issue at HOU, especially with all the Bizjets. EFD has some ramp space left over after UPS left for IAH (though NASA took some of it). This is just a guess though.

After having almost every NFL charter went through PVD this past season, they all decide to go out of BOS. Even a local tour company is chartering a flight fom BOS (last time they went out of PVD!). We're getting stiffed. I know that BOS is "the" big market in NE, but Foxboro is closer to the city of Providence and PVD. You always see media shots of BOS during the game too! Oh well, just a little hurt seeing the Renaissance city doing all the work but getting none of the credit

Good question that no one has answered yet. I haven't really followed football this year. Who is the underdog in this game? The Panthers, I take it? I always vote for the underdog, and in the last two years it has paid off(Patriots in 2002 and Buc's in '03).
BTW what will the Panthers be arriving in? Hopefully one of those spiffy US A333's?

Well I can almost assure you all that it will be Delta since DL sponsorship are all over the stadium.
As for going out of Boston it is a total Media/PR thing. The Pats are not holding a formal "Pep Rally" but they are encouraging people to send the team off in Foxboro. The team is getting a Mass. State police and Foxboro police escort up I-95 to BOS. I highly doubt that Rhode Island officials would like Mass State police escorting the team into their state. Like everything is the area, it probably comes down to politics, oh well...Go PATS
