Seems as though Grand Bahama Vacations is replacing thier flying to/from Freeport/FPO with Falcon Air Express. Laker had provided the service to quite a few east/midwest cities over the last few years. I wonder what Sir Freddie will do now? Falcon Air will be using a single class 733 on the routes.

I've been seeing Laker pretty often at CLE lately. Not sure where they were going, but it was nice to have a 727 back for awhile. Besides DHL the occasional Miami Air, we don't get Boeing three-holers here anymore.

islandboy: I was given the info from the ground handling airline here in PVD. I then had to call and speak to several folks personally down at Falcon Air Express to help set-up the new service. Apparently the switch will take place 1/26/04 here in PVD. Falcon Air will suposedly offer Grand Bahama Vacations a sizable cost savings over Laker.

I had heard that Laker was doing subservice for Bahamasair between MIA and NAS. I guess one of their 737-200's is not in service.

Falcon Air Express is taking over for Laker at Raleigh/Durham too. On the RDU website it says they take over on January 28.

Hey scotty, Laker is only being replaced by Falcon Air Express on the Grand Bahama Vacations runs I believe (PVD, BDL, MKE, RIC, RDU, CLE, etc to FPO). I don't think Laker is going under, just got under-bid to provide the flights.
