I am curious as to why the third row from the camera has no PTV's on the back of the seats? Is it because it may be an emergency exit row? Also, if there are PTV's, why is there the big flat screen on the bulkhead wall? Thanks!

It's because at the rear of the plane the middle row goes from 5 across to 4 and the PTV's would be offset from the occoupants view causing annoyances.

So in that row the PTV's come out of the armrest.

Check out seatguru.com for some details.

It's the AA 777 either atlantic or pacific.

Cheers!

The rows shorten from 5 seats to 4 here. They have the PTVs installed as a pull-out in the arm rests so it's not awkward to look at it.

/edit Cvervais beat me to it. Darn... Big grin

That looks the rearmost section of the plane. The 3rd row up looks like row 39, which is the last row in the center section with 5 seats. After that (rows 40-44), there are only 4 seats in the center section.

Thus, the row with 4 seats does not align with the row with 5 seats, so the PTV's wouldn't line up. So yes, AA gave that row armrest PTV's. It's the same thing with the tray tables.. it's just a matter of making them lineup with the seats.

Note: DAMN! I need to type faster! TWO of you beat me to it!  Big grin

Yeah, PTVs are definitely in the armrest there. I once enjoyed that very much on a DFW-LGW flight - that row of four seats was empty and I was able to fold out a PTVs left (for the airshow channel) and another one right to watch movies.

Forget the 'I want PTVs discussion' - since that day I always want TWO Tvs!!!  Wink/being sarcastic

Regards
Udo

The main screen at the front is so that
everyone can see the emergency brief i think.

Figured AA somehow had to solve this problem, Tekelberry.
