1. BA - Truly superb business class service in Europe
2. KLM - Handy for regional seemless connections to international destinations via Schipol
3. BMI - Next best airline out of Heathrow if BA is full!

Infact I don't think I have ever been booked on a flight with either KLM of BA in the last year which has been delayed and certainly not cancelled. I can't comment on BMI as I haven't flown with them since '99.

Hard question to answer! Not too sure which I most prefer and consider the best, but BA's up there, as it BMI Regional.

Within Europe, it is definitely Air One in Italy. They hand out Ice Cream Cones on their flights!

From Europe to the US, I must choose BA for quality and professionalism that can't be beat!

Although I haven´t flown on many european airlines, my best flight was aboard an Air France 777-200 GRU-CDG/CDG-GRU.
I liked specially because the flight attendants were very receptive and attencious, the food was delicious, the entertainment was good and the seat ( economy class ) was ok.

Crossair:

- leather seats

- superb meal service on all flights

- planes always half empty: lots of space to spread out

- gorgeous F/As

Too bad it no longer exists...

In the 90's when I lived in DUS, I used to fly DLT DUS-BSL. They did the best on short regional flights.

SR was the best Long Haul F/C.

None however could ever match the professionalism & class of the original Pan Am, IMHO the rest were just wanabees!

1. Swissair and Crossair. Simply the best when they were around. No other European airline, in my opinion, has been able to touch the class and sophistication that these two had, not even Swiss!

British Airways: Superlative Business Class service and attentive cabin crews.
I have never had anything less than a great flight with BA.

Finnair: This Scandinavian carrier, in my opinion, does not get the recognition it deserves. Excellent cuisine and wonderful cabin crew.

Air France: I have only flown Tempo Class on this carrier, but have always
been impressed with their service. PTV's in Tempo a very nice touch.

Aaah! Ryanair320, how could I have forgotten about Aer Lingus!? I flew them in 1999 fron BOS-SNN and my colleagues and I were up-graded to Premier Class. Very very nice flight. And loved the Irish Waterford Crystal and huge leather seats. Aaaaaaaaaah.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

This one's easy: Swiss International Air Lines

I've flown them 15 times (10 short, 5 long-haul) and all flights have been remarkable experiences. Just recently tried them out in business class and that was heaven.

F/A's have always been friendly, planes clean, good food, and always on-time. I think I've experienced one delay so far, and that was due to Heathrow's congested skies.

Austrian Airlines short-haul for in flight service and Miles & More programme.

British Airways long-haul because of the IFE

SN Brussels for punctuality and hub and Privilege programme

Lufthansa for the Miles&More programme

I have always been impressed by the service and comfort of Lauda Air (before becomming part of Austrian Airlines). Business class was the best I've had from a european carrier. Sadly, I never had the oppertunity to fly Swissair.
