Chinese President Hu Jintao announced today that China Southern had reached a preliminary agreement with Airbus for the purchase of 15 A320 and 6 A319 aircraft. No other details are currently available.

Are these new orders, or are they part of the 30 plane order placed last year by CASC? I think only a few of the 30 planes had been allocated during the year. Then again, 21 out of the 30 seems like a big chunk.
