NW 747-400 Launch Anniversary

On January 31st 1989, NW was the launch customer for the 747-400, the first flight was from MSP-PHX. NW now has 16 747-400's.

Yes, I remember watching the inaugural arrival from the top of the terminal 3 parking garage at PHX.

Here's some pictures we took during the first couple weeks of service. These are from early February 1989, not the inaugural flight but close enough.
