I just flew DFW-PDX on a 738 with the new interior (didn't know this was planned). The new interior color is greenish-blue - signage, seat identifiers, coach seats and all-cloth first class seats. No more leather! The seat was kind of scratchy. The FA said that this is the new interior to be rolled out. The pax, FA and even the captain said it looked awful - reminiscent of the 80s.

I flew in a DL 738 with the same interior on December 20th, in First on a SAV-ATL flight. The f/a told me she thought it was ugly and stained very easily. I thought the interior was kinda fresh and hip-looking, but to be honest it made me think I was on AirTran, not Delta. I was surprised to see the new interior especially on the 738 as most of them are quite new and already have fairly nice interiors. The DL 738s are bizarre though, between the green interiors and the three rows missing in the back... I think that if they are bent on keeping the 738s at 150 seats, negating the need for the 4th f/a, then spread the economy seats out a bit to give everyone a bit more legroom. The 738 is kinda cramped, I think; the MD-88, which is found on many similar routes, is much better for the most part (at least on the 2 seat side).

No, I didn't go into the lav....I was seated in 4A on the flight, and it was a 40-some odd minute flight, so all I noticed was the seats (cloth, lime-ish blueish green in color) and the seat row signs (the numbers and seat letters were in turquoise-green color)... The seat was quite comfortable I thought; it was only my third flight ever in the front cabin and first time up front on DL, but I found the seat very comfy, certainly better than the NW DC9 and at least as good as the NW A319 I took FC in another time
I didn't mind it so much...it just didn't fit. I mean, I haven't flown Delta all my life- my first time on DL was in early November of 2003, and in total i've been on 5 mainline flights (plus 2 on DL Connection), but this interior was just not Delta-like to me.
That said, if they go and outfit the whole fleet in that, that doesn't change my opinion that I like Delta a lot and when their price is close to competitive, they are now my first choice traveling from Savannah.

I know this off topic, but if DL is keeping their 738's at 150 pax, would it make sense to spread out the rest of the Economy cabin for more legroom? The only reason I could see for not doing this is so people don't expect it on other types in the fleet.
Back on topic, I saw picture of this a few months back, I thought it looked pretty ugly myself....
