Over the weekend I sat in CLT for nearly half a day (ten hours) in between flights on US Airways (I was playing, and losing, the ‘standby game’). After several hours of watching the same ‘boring’ jets, I began to wonder what they’d look like in special color schemes.
My US Airways ‘special color scheme’ would be on an A321 and titled ‘The City of Charlotte.’ It would depict various NASCAR scenes.
What would your US Airways ‘special color scheme’ be? (And please don’t suggest ‘retro’ / liveries attributing the Allegheny, US Air, PSA or Piedmont heritage).

Why not? Those would be the best and most appropriate/fitting Retro jets to have for US.

Seriously, it would be nice to see a plane paying tribute to it's employees - given all the recent sacrifices across the industry.

How about their current livery but with what looks like a puddle of red ink on the top with drip-trails running down the sides?

How about just plain white, with temporary decals for the "US Airways" titles? I think the banks and lessors would appreciate that.

Sorry IP, anything retro would be a perfect fit for US. After the jam job they did to PS, PI, etc, they owe it to the old-timers that stuck with them.....or had no choice but to stay with them.

Retro schemes are the best...I've been saying for years that an A320 would look great in Mohawk indian-head black and gold.
Of course, maybe an A320 with a picture of Michael Douglas in his "Wall Street" role (representing overpaid management) facing a picture of Jack Nicholson in his "Hoffa" role (representing entitlement-minded unions) would be appropriate. Then paint I-Fox's red ink dripping down the tail.

Nah, KROC...United would need a big lead weight tied to its ankles named "TED" to be an accurate representation.
