New Aerolineas Argentinas Logo!

Have just seen the new Aerolineas Argentinas logo, not the current interim one with the bland typeface and eurowhite fuselage, but a real new one.

The Andean Condor takes on a new shape and dimension and I think it looks pretty damn good.

Has anyone else seen it yet? Are there any aircraft flying yet with it? What are the details of the rollout?

Once I spoke with a F/A of AR and she told me that the new livery would have a big condor on the fuselage and lots of blue... but shortly afterwards they released the current scheme and my hopes on a nice scheme were gone...

Seems that the F/A had somehow right, heh?

Check out the recent photo on the flight/deck cabin section of the A.Net website. Nice shiny painted exterior in AR colours, but they maintained the crappy and drab ex CP (inherited by AC) interior seating.

Isn't leather cheap in Argentina??

FLYACYYZ: jejeje it sure is ! Although maybe not wise for an airline that is trying to upgrade its fleet.

ARGin MIA: I should call!!! Maybe you are right. Nothing in Salvemos. Only the painted schemes (some of which are great!!) posted in by navigators. I sure with that the company would take alook at some of the livery on the forum and introduce them.

Sorry, have been away for the long w/end in New Zealand - our anniversary holiday.

I found out that the logo and new livery that I have seen is under embargo until the launch date and that I should not really have seen it. However, it's okay because I have no electronic or hard copy of the new identity.

What I can tell you is that it has been designed by a company called Cato Partners in their Melbourne, Australia office. The new Condor is golden and blue is still the primary colour. The Condor itself is no longer a profile iteration, but a less obvious one with wings unfurled coming at you in a three-quarter profile. It is less obvious immediately that it is a Condor. I think it looks great.

The best thing of all is that the intermediate and very bland colour scheme is soon to be painted over. The euro-white is easy to augment with the new scheme. It'll give the LAN Chile logo a run for its money.

MH,

This is indeed an "old" scheme... I have seen a drawing (on a MD88, if memory serves me right) about two years ago with a friend, who also talked to a F/A. It was on some sort of internal newspaper of flier... can't remember exactly...

Anyhow, it was very similar to the one you just described...

Cheers

No actually, this work has recently been completed and is due for imminent launch by Aerolineas Argentinas. The design firm has also been appointed for work on the VIP lounges, check-in facilities and all branding at EKE which is ongoing work dovetailing into the main job of creating a new visual identity for the airline. It can't get any more "new".

Motorhussy,

So this means the previous Cato design was re-developed? Back in 1999 or 2000 they developed one new identity but due to the crisis it was folded. The colours looked good (the tail had a sort of Air New Zealand look) but the condor was horrible, it looked like the Japan Airlines bird. A photo was published at Argentine marketing magazine target.

That is a very similar livery to the one I referred to in the post however, in the livery I had seen, the blue on the tail continues with a lighter blue highlight underneath in an undulating line along the fuselage - very graceful and reminiscent of a silhouette of the Andes. Also, the Condor icon is quite different, but basically the same colours.

The tail looks suspiciously similar to Khalifa Airways

It's been swell, but the swelling has gone down.
