Keep checking http://www.air-scotland.com they'll have to release their plans soon. I wish them the best of luck for the summer and for the years to come. Go Air Scotland!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

They have increased frequencies on a number of routes recently so the sole aircraft should be getting better utilised. Don't know if you've noticed but their time keeping has got a lot better so hopefully this should be a good summer for them. We'll just have to hope that the delays from last summer don't put off customers. I've heard a few people say that they would never fly them again because of the delays last year.

I have noticed their improved punctuality. Their flights are now often on time or early. The delays weren't entirely their fault as they aren't using their own AOC so it was Air Holland as much as anyone else who caused the delays. The sooner they get their own AOC the better.

Expect any new routes to be from GLA, with a few increases on the EDI routes. Not sure if they plan to return to ABZ or NCL this summer.

I remember seeing their 752 at MAN a few months ago, and then at GLA on the 24/12/03 It was just sat on the apron. On the 29/12/03, I saw it on a stand with passengers embarking. It then departed.

Air Scotland now have 9 weekly departures from Glasgow until the start of the summer. I don't expect the summer schedule will bring any surprises - just the usual popular Spanish resorts but it is great news that they have weathered the initial storm and here's hoping they have a great summer and a successful future. They've already proved some doubters wrong.

With their current fleet of 757s, any long haul I reckon is out of the question. The first long haul route they would open, if any, would most likely be Orlando. They need a widebody for that,767 would work well, maybe next year hopefully! Can 757s even cover EDI/GLA to Orlando?

Yes they can , but usually with a refuelling stop. The BY / MON / CKT /AMM flights in the 90's used to do GLA -Orlando with 757's stopping at Bangor, Maine on the outbound against headwinds. Don't remember many from EDI though.

Ah, so it is a possiblitity then. I would like to know what will happen with the summer demand, as they only have 1 757 from Greece Airlines(?) for the winter. Will they get their own AOC or will they use Air Holland again. Then they could make use of a 767 to Orlando?

Their website says they are negotiating to buy 3 757's. On that TV program the other night there was mention of a 767. I think Orlando would be the destination they would pick for a 767. Dont think Orlando is quite as popular as it once was. Maybe they'll get on the Toronto bandwagon. The west coast of America or Vegas would be a niche option.

Air Scotland operate flights for a holiday company (I forget its name), look out for it offering flights in the US and Air Scotland may follow.
