Does anyone know when NW will be putting the A332 into service on trans-pac routes? I've postponed my PVG trip to late September/early October. Will the A332 be operating PDX-NRT or SEA-NRT at that time? I remember hearing "fourth-quarter of 2004" but by that do they mean fall or winter? Does anyone have any more specific dates?

Well by saying 'fourth quarter 2004'...it means in the October-November-December 2004 time frame. NW has 32 330s on order, with 5 or 6 333s in service now. Don't know how many of that initial 32 are 332s tho. Regards.

that would be nice if NWA would get a 346. But it is prettey unlickley. NWA really doent need a long-range aircraft like a 346. And also the 346 does cost a lot of money to opperate. NWA woudnt go for the 346 it doesnt really fit into there fleet renowel plan. But i do think it would be nice.

NW seems to like the 747-400 on the long hauls to the orient. They have 16 now and 17 model 200's according to their inflight mag of January of 2004.
Expect them to order a couple more of the 400's this year for a delivery in 2006, possible late 2005. Just a hunch, nothing firm here.

I suspect NW's long-haul passenger fleet into the deep future will be A332, A333 and B744 (with the possibility of B742 and/or DC-10 operating long-haul lesiure routes). At this point, I'd be surprised if NW choose to add the B777, A340 or A380 (although I wouldn't rule any of them out).

Out of thier original A330 order 10 of them will be The A330-200's. some will be serving new flight portland,OR - Narita,Japan which begins service june10 initially will be operated by DC-10 then replaced by the A332 as they enter service. Possibly KSEA-RJAA will be another flight they will be used in. According to NWA.com the 1st A330-200 will be delivered mid to late 2004, however airbus.com has said with thier current a330 production moving at such a rapid pace they will be well ahead of schedule for thier 2004 deliveries, have even said NWA could see 1st delivery of A330-200 in May. Not sure when deliveries for the -300 will resume!
Hope this clears the air a bit.
Man i Cant wait for next A330 to be delivered -200 or -300 Im not picky!
