Just wondering if this has ever happened........

Has any airline operated the same aircraft twice? For example: The airline sells it's most hated piece of $hit and then re-acquires it through a merger or buyout.

Just curious......

Yes. I know Braniff had operated some of the BAC 1-11s that they acquired in the Florida Express buyout years before. Late '60s or early '70s(?).
Do not know any specifics, though.
