I found out a few interesting things that may interest people, regarding foreign carriers at Belgrade Airport.

Aerosvit will continue with their weekly service from Kiev with the 735.

Alitalia will fly daily from Milan with the ERJ.

Alitalia will drop flights from Rome, thus JAT will be the only operator on the route with 733s.

American Airlines will codeshare with Swiss from Zurich.

Austrian Airlines will fly twice daily from Vienna.

British Airways should fly four times weekly, primarily with the A320.

CSA Czech Airlines will continue from Prague with ATRs and 735s.

Lufthansa will open daily CRJ flights between Frankfurt and Belgrade.

Olympic Airways will continue with ATRs from Athens.

Snowflake should continue from Copenhagen and Stockholm with 738s.

Swiss will continue with their daily service from Zurich.

Tunisair is destined to open a twice weekly service from Tripoli.

United Airlines will codeshare with Lufthansa on the Frankfurt flights.

Uzbekistan Airways will continue with their service from Tashkent with the 763s. JAT should continue their codeshare on the flights to New York.

I am sure that I forgot a few companies, however that is it in a nutshell.

Glad that LH will resume the FRA flights, much better conections.
I am surprised that AF isnt starting flights to Belgrade.Apparently Jat is doing great on BEG-CDG route with 2 daily flights.

Yes indeed. My mistake. Tunisair will fly from Tunis  Smokin cool

The BEG-CDG route is doing very well. Last summer, JAT flew to Paris even three times in one day. I am certain that this will continue. Expect more 734s on the Paris flights instead of the 733s.

As for the news from Frankfurt; JAT will definately come under strong competition from Lufthansa. It will be very interesting to see how things develop.

JU101 - glad that CDG is doing well for JAT (I flew CDG-BDG vv on JAT a couple of years back, as guest of JU, and had a lovely time (except for the smoking cof cof !) - perhaps JU should consider moving terminals at CDG2 - I think they are in 2A and its a right dump - very tatty, looks like a down at heel bus station. By contrast BEG is much nicer.

Any word if and when JAT will be resuming flights to YYZ?

Know they did extremely well on this run for years, first charter then sked on the DC10-30.

The demand is certainly alive and well for flights back to BEG, as well as ZAG (yes, technically another country now)

I've checked the flights from BEG to FRA LH will deploy a Canadair 700 series, departing BEG early at 6.35-6.50 (depending on the day of the week) whereas evening flight will leave FRA at 21.15 and arrive in BEG at 23.05. I guess this will make smoother connections at FRA!

And Austrian will fly an evening flight to BEG with MD-87.

:o)

JGPH1A,

Gladly i could say that smoking has been banned a while back. Yes that terminal in CDG is not very appealing. I do not see them moving anytime soon, especially since all the other central and southeast European carriers also go through the same terminal.

A few years back, Belgrade Airport had the typical 70s and 80s appearance. Since then, T1 was reconstructed (formerly domestic terminal), and T2 should be completed by summer. I heard good things thus far.

Sobelair,

Austrian are trying to saturate the former Yugoslavian market for years now. I am sure they are doing well with Sarajevo too.

In the meantime i forgot one company from the list in my original posting:

MAT Macedonian Airlines to continue from Skopje with 733s. Currently they fly 4 times weekly, and codeshare with JAT on those flights.
