Just booked a trip on Delta, JAX-ATL-CDG-FCO using FF miles travelling 1st class. Got the tickets in the mail and on the ATL-CDG AF flight it says 'Class O' for class of service and I'm not sure if this means business or first class, or if maybe Delta messed up my reservation. Thanks

O class? Don't worry. You're golden.

O Class is a free business class award. Flairport would be wrong. You scored buiness class seats!

Airlines tend to use a different class for first and biz when the ticket is free. Like HP for instance uses E for non-paying first class or upgrades.

I'm taking a guess, but I dont believe Delta upgrades people to First on international codeshare routes. They only offer Business and Coach on all international flights (Codeshare and obviously their own) since they themselves only offer Business and coach internationally. So no they did not mess up your reservation, as they do not even offer first class seats to beginwith internationally. You will be in first class domestically probably, then business internationally no matter which airline you fly with.

O class is a SkyMiles business class award ticket. All the flights trans atlantic are two class configured aircraft, business elite and coach. You're in business elite, which is actually a WHOLE lot better than Delta's first class, which is only for domestic service.

You'll see the difference JAX-ATL, and then ATL-CVG.

Enjoy!

yeah, the whole international award system is a little mind boggling. For instance, I redeemed my delta skymiles for two first class roundtrip reward tickets on Air France from MIA to CDG. When you look at the tickets Delta sent to me in the mail, there are no seat assignments but the ticket booking class is A... first class... BUT if you go onto the amadeus site to view the itinerary with Air France, it says my seats are coach class with a seat assignment of 1A and 1B (obviously first class). I called Air France to verify and they told me yes my reservation was for 2 first class seats, however thye have no idea why the system lists them as coach... let's hope the agents at the airport recognize this...

Most peculiar re the AF flights in A class - is there anyway you can give me the date you're flying - I can find the booking without any other info, and I can check it for you.

Yes, as we all know this is company policy. Delta just randomly changes peoples flights for no reason and won't tell them. Surprise!  Insane Don't be stupid.

If you call 1-800-221-1212 a Delta representative would be more than happy to assist you in answering your questions.

One already has.  Big grin
